Lake Nona, Florida

One vision.
Two distinct ecosystems.

For more than a decade, Showcase Aquarium Solutions has worked alongside this client as his passion for the aquarium hobby has continued to evolve. What began with a 90-gallon aquarium progressed to a 125-gallon system, followed by dual 150-gallon displays, and ultimately to the two Red Sea Reefer 1000 systems that anchor opposite ends of the home today.

Throughout every generation, Showcase has planned and managed each system from the ground up. The client’s vision for the livestock has guided the direction, while our team has handled the equipment selection, aquascaping, automation, stocking strategy, and long-term husbandry required to bring that vision to life.

Reefer 1000 · Mixed Reef

The first Reefer 1000 is a mature mixed reef with an increasing emphasis on LPS corals. A more traditional rockscape provides the foundation for a diverse collection of Goniopora, Torch corals, soft corals, feather dusters, and large mushroom colonies. One of its signature specimens is an exceptionally large Supernova Anemone.

More than 30 fish inhabit the system alongside a Zebra Moray Eel, creating a display that is constantly active while maintaining the diversity of a full reef ecosystem.

Predator 1000

The second Reefer 1000 was designed with an entirely different purpose. A minimalistic, arching aquascape preserves open swimming space and places the focus on an impressive collection of larger and more unusual fish.

Highlights include a Golden Puffer, Chrysurus Angel, Goldflake Angel, Emperor Angel, Blueface Angel, Clown Trigger, Dwarf Lionfish, and additional predatory species.

Different displays. One complete care plan.

Both systems incorporate Apex control and electrical monitoring to continuously verify that critical equipment is operating as intended.

The reef system takes automation even further with continuous automated water testing and mechanical filtration through a roller mat, while automatic frozen-food feeders help maintain consistent feeding across both aquariums.

Now approximately three years established, both Reefer 1000s are professionally maintained by Showcase Aquarium Solutions every week. Their automation and comprehensive service schedule keep client involvement intentionally minimal, allowing him to focus on enjoying the displays while we manage the complexities of maintaining two very different aquatic ecosystems.

More than simply two aquariums, these systems represent over a decade of collaboration—continually adapting and expanding alongside the client’s vision while providing the professional care needed to support it.
